You’re Putting Money Into Your Competitor’s Pocket

When I first started, I had no clue what I was doing. I followed every trend, copied what my competitors were doing, and had no strategy besides posting quick tips and linking them to my story.
Plain & simple, I didn’t stand out.
It took me months to figure out that I had to start sharing my OWN knowledge and experience to get anywhere. No more just showing up to show up, I had to start doing better than everyone I was looking at for inspo.
Is something is not working… it’s probably you.
If you want to start converting viewers into followers and clients, you need to:
#1 be a business owner, you’re not an influencer sharing “hacks”.
#2 share your personal experience, not just tips & tricks.
#3 post your own original content, stop scrolling for new ideas.
Here’s what I would NEVER do.
Scroll my feed for ideas: This one is controversial… but I create content based on my own content pillars. I pre-plan all my content by month. The only time I scroll my feed is for trending audio.
Compare myself to my competitors: This one is tricky as well. It is always good to stay updated with your competitors but not to compare results. You will end up in a never-ending cycle of negative thoughts.
Copy other creator’s posts: This one should be obvious. In this competitive age of Instagram everyone is ripping each other off. It’s best to take inspiration from your competitors but never copy.
Copy other creator’s strategies: Just because it worked for them doesn’t mean it’ll work for me. I like to tailor my strategy to reach my audience. I update it every couple of months, depending on my content performance.
Are you ready to construct a strategy that actually works?
