Goodbyes Aren’t Always Permanent… or Personal

Over the past few months, I have sadly had a couple of clients say goodbye. I know it’s not a reflection of my work, but it still saddens me to see them go. It is also a wake-up call that I need to be more actively seeking out potential clients. There was a sense of compliance and comfort I was reaching to where I wasn’t doing EVERYTHING I could be to scale my business. I was receiving so many inquiries and referrals that I started to lack on the engagement side of things to reach ALL of my audience. I had the “they would come to me if they needed me” mindset, which is not how we grow. Instead, I was holding myself back.

Growth comes with doing things that make you uncomfortable. Being a good business owner comes with doing the little things you don’t NEED but could always benefit from. When you become stagnant, you are still. You are not progressing or digressing. You think you can slack off a bit since you are not going down in numbers. This is what I am calling a limited mindset. When you are limiting yourself, you are putting yourself in a box. You are capped off and not planning on advancing. You may think things come so easily that you don’t have to do anything. THAT’S the issue. As we know, circumstances happen, and life can take unexpected turns. This is what can lead to a decrease. When we do not have a game plan that we stick to, we fall behind. So, since we cannot prevent loss, the least we can do is obtain and continuously grow. That way when loss does happen its such a minor thing to where we takeaway gratitude rather than resentment. Who knows, those clients may come back, or be a gateway to referrals. Do not burn bridges, you never know when you’ll need to cross those waters again.

Every person I’ve encountered or worked with is a friend. If you took the time to engage and support me even slightly, you are valuable to me. When I work with someone, even if our time together ends, they will always be someone I check in on or maintain our relationship. I have gratitude for those I’ve worked with as they were a part of my journey. I learn something every time I meet and onboard a client. They helped shape my business in a sense, as they were people I have gained experience from. I have learned what tasks I like and don’t, what I am good at, and what I can learn more on. I have built meaningful partnerships, held game changing meetings, and most importantly helped those who need it. Whether I keep my clients for as long as I run my business, or only have it go as far as a Discovery Call, I have gained experience and knowledge. Being a Barbie Girl in a Barbie World comes with its ups and downs… even Stereotypical Barbie can tell you that. I think she would even agree that she wouldn’t change what has happened to her as it made her into who she is today.

Growth comes with letting what no longer serves us go.

Know that when one door closes, three more open.

Remember to always have gratitude and humility.

Give this post a like if you can resonate, and comment if you saw Barbie or Oppenheimer (I saw both).
