Today marks the one-month anniversary of working with a new client. I offer a Strategy Call with my clients each month to ensure we achieve our goals, stick to the game plan, and look at the month ahead. As today was the marker of a new month for this client, we took a look at our progress and they announced that they are no longer taking new clients for therapy sessions as they are fully booked out! As we bask in the moment and take this achievement, I also started to think, “wow, what did we do different, and how can I help more therapists and wellness coaches get the same results?”
I will share EXACTLY what I did with this client, hoping other therapists or wellness coaches can apply the same social media strategy to their business marketing. Let’s take a look at the social media strategy below.
The Social Media Strategy
Engagement– Engagement on social media is the lifeblood of growth because it serves as the bridge between your brand or profile and your audience. When you actively respond to comments, messages, and feedback, you create a nurturing environment that encourages your existing followers to stay, interact, and share your content. It’s a sign that you value and respect your community. Moreover, this genuine care and interaction do not go unnoticed by potential new followers. When they see that you engage authentically, they are more likely to be drawn in, follow, and become part of your community. In essence, engagement is the vehicle that communicates your commitment to your audience, fostering trust and loyalty while simultaneously opening the door for new people to see that you genuinely care about your online presence and the community you’re building.
2. Market Research– Market Research equips you with the knowledge and insights needed to connect with your target audience effectively, create relevant content, and adapt to the evolving landscape. It provides the foundation upon which you can build a successful and sustainable social media presence, attracting and retaining followers while achieving your growth objectives.
3. Competitor Research– Competitor research is crucial for achieving growth on social media because it provides valuable insights into what works and what doesn’t in your industry or niche. By analyzing your competitors’ content, engagement strategies, and audience demographics, you can identify trends, best practices, and gaps in the market. This knowledge allows you to refine your own social media strategy, create more compelling content, and engage with your target audience more effectively. Furthermore, studying your competitors helps you stay ahead in the constantly evolving social media landscape, adapt to changes, and innovate based on what has proven successful for others. In essence, competitor research serves as a guide for optimizing your social media presence and driving sustainable growth in a highly competitive digital environment.
4. Content Analysis– Using Insights on Instagram is a great way to learn what content does well AND what content doesn’t appeal to your ideal client. This helps you narrow down what content to make, what content may need to be repurposed, and what exactly your ideal client needs help with. You can take a lot away from what does and doesn’t do well on your social media platform. Content analysis also makes coming up with ideas easier!
5. Content Scheduling– Consistency, consistency, consistency!!! Getting on a routine not only helps with the “when should I post” conflict but is also predetermined by the previous research to see what times do better and are more engaging for your audience. Thus, ensuring we are posting at a time that works best for you, and takes away that extra level of stress. On top of that, a consistent schedule provides trust and connection with your audience as they know when you are online and builds a community.
6. Scripting– One of the most effective aspects of my content strategy is scripting. What I do with my clients is have them write an outline of the topics they want to discuss. This makes caption writing a breeze for them, and takes away the time consumption that comes with righting a caption that embodies your message! I have my clients write out on a sheet things like topics, sub-topics, and pull out pain points, solutions, and call to actions that wrap up their message like its an individualized gift for their audience.
7. Maintenance– Now, this is the cherry on top of our content strategy that ultimately leads to their wins. My social media strategy can outline the perfect way to gain a ready to buy audience, but if you are not maintaining it… you can say goodbye to those leads! The best way to stay involved with your daily checklist for your content strategy can vary. For me, I like a good old to-do list. This list is broken down by daily, weekly, and monthly tasks I need to do in order to gain the big W.
Once you have perfected these 7 things on your social media strategy checklist, you will start to see the leads and offers to roll in like my client has!
