I just had a birthday 🥳

I love seeing people share their "x things I learned by x years old," and I figured what better way to share my many years of wisdom 😂 than by sharing some hopefully not-so-basic things I've learned by 26 as the owner of a social media and marketing company for therapy practices.

So, without further ado, let's get into it 👇🏻

26 Lessons I've Learned By 26

I can't ease my way into the list... I have to start off strong because they're all bangers, to be honest 🤩

  1. Have an outlet for both your personal and business life. Sometimes, you need a safe space to brainstorm and rant 👀🫣 and you'll need someone in your corner.

  2. ALWAYS do a brain dump and keep a Google doc, notes tab, or pen and paper open for when you randomly get an idea or thought you want to revisit.

  3. You don't need to have your aesthetic branding, hair, and makeup done all the time to be taken seriously or seen as professional. You put in the work to get where you are; wear the sweatpants.

  4. Set boundaries at the very beginning of each relationship. Don't be afraid to reiterate them. Remind them every time until they're followed, and if you need to cut ties because a relationship is constantly going against them, do so.

  5. Make time for your hobbies. If you don't have one, get one... or two.

  6. Trust your GUT. If they give you bad vibes/ red flags on a consult. Say no thank you.

  7. You don't have to say yes to everyone. I promise you it's not worth the money.

  8. Free material like blogs, podcasts, and guides are a great way to evaluate a potential coach. However, if you want real substance and help in your business, you have to invest. Nothing in a free guide will transform your business or marketing the way you think it will.

  9. You can't trust everyone. Be careful who you share information with

  10. Therapy isn't just "talking to someone," but don't go unless you're ready to talk and be honest AND want the help/ know it will help. That being said, everyone should go... when they're ready

  11. Everyone should have at least one staple jewelry piece.

  12. Invest in GOOD quality basics, such as a white t-shirt specifically. SO versatile/ goes with everything.

  13. Schedule in self-care. No ands, ifs, or buts about it. If you literally have to put it in your calendar, DO IT. Block the whole day off and do things you love or have been putting off, including getting a massage, showering, and feeding yourself. YUP. These things count.

  14. Put in 1% more every day. This could mean getting up 5 minutes earlier to say some affirmations or doing something extra in your marketing for that day. It can be anything. Watch the difference it makes in your day-to-day life.

  15. What you put in your body MATTERS. Check your ingredient labels, eat more whole foods, and avoid seed oils. Not only will you feel better and have more energy, but you will think more clearly, and it will help with productivity.

  16. Use a calendar and or planner. It can be the one on your phone but don't rely on your mind to remember your daily tasks.

  17. Schedule your day. Even the weekends. It makes all the difference.

  18. You don't need an excuse to call someone you love. Just call.

  19. Instagram is better for community, and TikTok is better for visibility. I said what I said.

  20. You should be marketing yourself on more than one platform. However, there should be a home base; your main platform should be the one you enjoy using the most and understand best.

  21. Don't post every single day. It's the fast track to burnout and honestly doesn't make a difference in your marketing strategy or performance.

  22. Quality will always be better than quantity, and you can't change my mind.

23. Take every chance you can to spend QUALITY time with your grandparents.

  1. You don't HAVE to eat breakfast before coffee, but always drink your water first (and get a BIG water bottle to carry with you.. stay hydrated.)

  2. Overnight success is not possible. Sure, you can blow up overnight, but think of the YEARS of work, all the time and effort, that went into it FIRST. If you want to maintain that success, you can't just stop after the one-time thing.

  3. You should only have what you need (to pay bills) in a checking account. You should have multiple accounts, which should be high-yield savings. BONUS: Have savings just for taxes. Thank me later. xoxo

& one more for good luck.. don't skip on dessert. 🍨 😋

Some of these topics are unhinged, and some are off-topic, but I know they will alter your brain chemistry in a good way! I hope you enjoyed these.

Which lessons would you add, and which of the ones I listed do you resonate with most/ found the most helpful?
